Interview with Georgina Sappier-Richardson (Passamaquoddy), who was removed from her home at age two, was abused in several foster homes, tries to understand how she fits into her tribal community after decades away, and testifies at the Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2014. Sappier-Richardson also appears in the Emmy Award–winning documentary Dawnland (2018), which focuses on other Native American children harmed by the U.S. government's practice of cultural genocide.
