In rural Latvia, 17-year-old Raya (played by Elīna Vaska) and brother Robis (played by Andžejs Jānis Lilientāls) are living with their intolerable grandmother, but when she unexpectedly dies they bury her and pretend nothing has changed so that they aren't sent to an orphanage. Raya's plan is to locate the mother who abandoned them when she travels to an academic competition in London, but she has to keep her affair with her teacher a secret so that she can take the trip. - Director
