Setsuko's niece convinces her to enroll in an English class, where her American teacher requires students to take on new identities. In her blonde wig she becomes Lucy, develops feelings for her teacher, and then travels from Tokyo to California when he disappears and she finds out he and her niece had been secretly dating.
