In repressive Tehran, teenage friends Atafeh (played by Nikohl Boosheri) and Shireen (played by Sarah Kazemy) imagine living elsewhere as they explore their sexuality and attraction to one another, take drugs, and go to clubs. But their behavior is scrutinized by Atafeh's brother (played by Reza Sixo Safai), who becomes a Muslim extremist after his release from jail.
