In this surreal satire, Boryana (played by Irmena Chichikova) does not want to have children until she can leave Bulgaria but gives birth to a daughter with no umbilical cord who is declared the socialist baby of the decade by the Communist Party. After the regime falls when she is nine years old, Viktoria tries to form a relationship with her estranged grandmother and adjust to the fall from her highly privileged status.
